Kim Kardashian Admits Having Imposter Syndrome
The fashionista Kim Kardashian in an interview with Time in June 2023 admitted that she has imposter syndrome. “Obviously you have big hopes, but this definitely exceeded everything that I ever imagined. I still have, like, impostor syndrome or whatever, but I think that’s part of what keeps me going,” the 42-year-old entrepreneur said. However, the style icon is using both self-doubt and imposter syndrome to her advantage. Kim says that what keeps her going, thus benefitting her business.
According to the National Institutes of Health, “imposter syndrome is a behavioral health phenomenon described as self-doubt of intellect, skills, or accomplishments among high-achieving individuals“. The socialite is not the only one who has talked of her troubles with imposter syndrome. Bella Hadid and Michelle Obama have also admitted to having imposter syndrome.

Skims was founded by Kim Kardashian in 2019. The brand was quick to pick up customers and bring innovation into shapewear. With trendy styles, high-quality materials, and different shapes and sizes, Skims over time became a multibillion-dollar company. As of January 2022, the company has a value of $3.2 billion which has only hiked.
The socialite had tried her hand in various ventures including cupcakes for weight loss. But with the shapewear brand, she felt accomplished and right. “At the beginning, when I didn’t really understand where my career was going because I was just kind of winging it, I would do licensing deals with a lot of different companies that would contradict themselves, like a cupcake brand with a weight-loss pill at the same time,” she explained how she had tried her hand on many areas.
