Against the ever-expanding Marvel universe, excitement brews with whispers of Robert Downey Jr. stepping into the shoes of Doctor Doom. Marvel fans worldwide are on the edge of their seats, eager to see if the beloved Iron Man can bring the same magic to this new villainous role. But as the hype grows, not everyone in the Marvel camp is celebrating.
Jonathan Majors, who once donned the mantle of ‘Kang the Conqueror,’ finds himself at a crossroads. His other roles, such as Damian ‘Diamond Dame‘ Anderson in ‘Creed III‘ was met with acclaim, and the film grossed over $276 million worldwide. But he’s now “heartbroken” being sidelined in favor of Downey Jr.’s triumphant return. Here’s how he is reacting.
Jonathan Majors’ “Heartbroken” Reaction To MCU’s Latest Casting
Jonathan Majors recently opened up about his feelings about his Marvel replacement during an interview with TMZ, and let’s just say he’s not thrilled. He voiced his disappointment and unhappiness at the choice to have Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom take the role of his character, Kang. “Yeah, heartbroken. Of course, I love him. I love Kang. Doctor Doom is wicked though,” Majors said.
Majors also talked about the industry’s treatment of actors with criminal histories, noting that both Downey Jr. and Miller have been welcomed back with open arms despite their past controversies. “I think it’s fair that Mr. Downey is being, and has been greeted, with patience, and curiosity, and love, and that Mr. Miller has gotten the same treatment, and that they’re allowed to work their art and be creative at that level… I don’t really get that,” he admitted, highlighting a perceived double standard.
Jonathan Major’s character was also set to play a big role in the then-titled ‘Avengers: The Kang Dynasty‘ (now Avengers: Doomsday), but tragedy struck midway. After being arrested on charges of assault and harassment, the actor was pulled from the film.

Do Fans Think Jonathan Majors Deserves Another Shot?
As Jonathan Majors poured his heart out, the question remains: Do fans think he deserves another shot in the superhero spotlight? Public opinion seems divided. Some sympathize with Majors, acknowledging his talent and the potential he showed as Kang. Others, however, argue that his situation is different from Downey Jr. and Miller’s, who have unique circumstances that contributed to their comebacks.
Despite the mixed reactions, Majors remains hopeful. He has expressed a desire to return as Kang if given the opportunity. “Kang? Hell yeah! Hell yeah, hell yeah. I love him,” he exclaimed.
