The Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards are highly revered accolades that celebrate the accomplishments and contributions from the Black community to the fields of music, film, media, and politics. However, Jonathan Majors receiving it amid the hot controversy over his legal battle has made many question its authenticity.

Majors made headlines last year after he was convicted recently for assaulting his former girlfriend Grace Jabbari. The conviction also led Marvel to drop him as Kang from ‘Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania‘. The actor was arrested in March 2023 on charges of strangulation, assault, and harassment.

Other than Majors, rapper Fat Joe will also be honored with the Culture Award, and Cardi B with the Inspiration Award.
