Even though DCEU has let go of Henry Cavill as Superman, the fans are still not over it. Last year as James Gunn shifted from MCU, he was keen on revolutionizing DC with its characters, plotlines, and graphics. And in that process, the news broke that Gunn is searching for a new Superman to replace Cavill.
While it has been nearly impossible for fans to make peace with Cavill’s Superman farewell, an artist delivered a glimpse of what his future as Superman could have looked like.

Henry Cavill As Kingdom Come Superman
Looks like fans got the closure they deserved after a year-long devasting news of Henry Cavill not returning as the Man of Steel. A fan artwork by an Instagram user skull101ify showed an older version of Cavill’s Superman and what he could have looked like in Kingdom Come. The artist captioned, “A lot of people want Henry to return to DC as Kingdom Come Superman and I thought I’d show people how he could look in the role”.
It goes without saying that DC fanatics have cemented a special place in their hearts for Henry Cavill and desperately want him back as Superman. Kingdom Come written by Alex Ross shows Superman and the Justice League giving up their superhero duties for the new heroes. Before James Gunn took over, there was quite a possibility for fans to witness a film revolving around Kingdom Come. But due to the shift in the CEO, the vision and the characters have been revitalized with the introduction of a young Clark Kent.

Henry Cavill is Not Over Playing Superman
Both the fans as well as Henry Cavil are not over his iconic role as Clark Kent. The actor held on to hope until he wore the cape back. During an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Cavill spoke about how much Superman still means to him. Only if James Gunn was sailing in the same boat as Cavill.
“The character means so much to me. It’s been five years now. I never gave up hope. It’s amazing to be here now talking about it again. There is such a bright future ahead for the character. I am so excited to tell a story with an enormously joyful Superman”. And now since ‘Superman: Legacy’ is under production, fans are really hoping it to be justifiable for replacing Henry Cavill with a younger actor.
