Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs has been in the headlines for quite a while for a plethora of sexual assault allegations against him. Though he has been constantly denying all the allegations made against him, a 2016 video of him brutally beating and kicking his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura released by CNN has put things in perspective for people, proving his crime.
The video has gone viral on social media since its release where the rapper can be seen being extremely violent with his ex-girlfriend. While many including Ventura’s legal representatives, her husband, and some celebrities have reacted to the video, Diddy has been silent so far. However, the rapper has finally broken the silence over the matter through a social media post. Here’s what he said.

“I Was F**ked Up”: Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Recall The “Darkest Times” When He Abused Cassie Ventura
Sean Diddy Combs is seemingly taking “full responsibility” for his violent behavior put on full display in a recently surfaced 2016 video showing the hip-hop mogul physically assaulting his then-girlfriend, singer Cassie Ventura, known professionally as Cassie. Taking to Instagram two days after the video surfaced, Diddy expressed remorse about his behavior.
“It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you gotta do that,” Combs confessed in a new video posted on his Instagram account on Sunday. “I was f—ed up. I mean, I hit rock bottom. But I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable,” he said about the CCTV footage in discussion.
“I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted. I was disgusted then when I did it. I’m disgusted now. I went and I sought professional help. After going to therapy and going to rehab, I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry. But I’m committed to being a better man each and every day. I’m not asking for forgiveness. I’m truly sorry,” the music mogul added.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Had Denied All Allegations Made Against Him By Cassie Ventura
The surveillance video in question reportedly dates back to March 2016. Though it lacks audio, the video has captured the incident of Cassie being assaulted by Combs in what was confirmed to be a hotel lobby. In the video, Combs can be seen running down a hotel hallway in a towel and socks, chasing Ventura as she waits for an elevator.
Before Ventura manages to enter the elevator, Diddy grabs her by the neck, throws her to the ground, kicks her while she curls up, drags her, and later shoves her and throws an object at her.
The video falls in line with all the accusations Cassie Ventura made against Combs in a lawsuit filed in November, where she accused him of physical assault, rape, and sexual trafficking. It also claimed that the music mogul paid a hefty amount for the possession of the surveillance video. The lawsuit was settled just a day after it was filed. However, the video has now sparked speculation about the case likely to get reopened again.
Ventura’s attorney, Meredith Firetog, responded to Combs’ video with a statement to Entertainment Weekly. “Combs’ most recent statement is more about himself than the many people he has hurt. When Cassie and multiple other women came forward, he denied everything and suggested that his victims were looking for a payday,” the statement said.
“That he was only compelled to ‘apologize’ once his repeated denials were proven false shows his pathetic desperation, and no one will be swayed by his disingenuous words,” the statement added.
