Patrick Mahomes recently revealed how he played a part in the romance between his teammate Travis Kelce and pop superstar Taylor Swift. He was speaking during his recent appearance on the ‘The Pat McAfee Show‘, when the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback took the credit for the fan-favorite relationship.
“I invited Travis to Taylor’s concert when the friendship bracelet idea surfaced. He was in my suite, so I feel like I had a hand in setting them up,” Patrick declared. He further recalled encouraging Travis to make a move and telling Taylor about his feelings. “I had some input in there as well. I told him, ‘Dude, just go for it.’ Travis being Travis, he went for it. He’s a great guy, and I’m happy it all worked out,” he said.
Travis Kelce has previously shared the details of his plan to woo Taylor Swift when he was attending one of her concerts. Opening up about it in a July 2023 episode of his podcast ‘New Heights‘, Travis mentioned wanting to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his number on it. However, he said he missed the chance “because she has to save her voice for the 44 songs that she sings.”

Travis Kelce And Taylor Swift’s Dating Timeline Remains Under Wraps
Though the exact timeline of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s romance remains a mystery, Taylor later confirmed in her ‘Time Person of the Year‘ interview that their romance began after Kelce mentioned her on his podcast. “It started when Travis very adorably mentioned me, which I thought was super cool,” Swift said. “We began spending time together soon after. By the time I attended my first game, we were already a couple.”
Since the two started dating, they have never shied away from showing off their love for each other publicly. In fact, they have consistently cheered for each other in their respective careers, as Swift’s presence at Kelce’s games increased over time. It also put a lot more spotlight on the Chiefs and the NFL than usual.
As she frequented almost all of Kelce’s matches, the pop sensation developed a friendship with Patrick Mahomes’ wife, Brittany. The two couples share a compatibility that is often at display during the NFL games as well as other events that they attend together.
During the show, McAfee complimented Mahomes on how well he and his team handled the extra attention. “I feel like I’m a part of their relationship with all the updates I get,” McAfee joked. “You guys are managing it amazingly.”
