Ethan Hawke‘s surprise cameo in Taylor Swift‘s ‘Fortnight‘ music video was a delightful treat for her fans and his. The actor appeared along with his ‘Dead Poets Society’ co-star, Josh Charles, seemingly as a tribute to the film with similar shades as the album ‘The Tortured Poets Department‘.
Hawke himself has seemingly been overwhelmed with his appearance in the video and the response from fans after the collaboration. In a recent interview on Sirius XM’s The Jess Cagle Show, Hawke revealed that Swift aimed to establish a connection between ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ and ‘Dead Poets Society‘, paying homage to the latter. However, Hawke has seemingly developed some higher attachments to the song. Here’s what he said.

“It’s so amazing because it’s a completely different realm for you,” the host said, adding that within “the whole Swiftie, larger culture — there’s a whole Swiftipedia — it lists you as, you know, appears in “Fortnight’ video, as if that’s the only thing you’ve ever done.”
“It’s funny you say that because I thought, as I was flying out there, I thought, you know, I’ve worked so hard in my life, and I have a feeling this will be in my obituary,” Hawke jokingly confessed, further suggesting that he “might get a few other mentions.”
