Arnold Schwarzenegger has had a successful stint both in films and politics. Coming from Nazi-occupied Austria and seeing hate from close quarters, he always speaks about antisemitism.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the ‘True Lies‘ actor has issued a statement to address the increasing incidents of antisemitism across the globe. He said that his friends say to not engage with such people.

I don’t care what they say. I care about you. I think you’re worth it. I know that nobody’s perfect. I understand how people can fall into the trap of prejudice and hate,” the actor said.

He further added: “It’s easier to hate than it is to learn, it’s easier when somebody challenges you to get hurt feelings and to go find some echo chamber that will tell you you’re right and they’re wrong.”

In his address, the former Governor talked about visiting Auschwitz, where around 1.1 million Jews were killed by Adolf Hitler’s government during World War II. He also talked about his father, who was a member of the Nazi party.

They fell for a horrible, loser ideology,” he said. “They were lied to and misled into a path that ended in misery … they bought into the idea that the only way to make their lives better was to make other lives worse …. It breaks you … it is the path of the weak … there has never been a successful movement based on hate.”

Last year, Kanye West went on a rant against the Jews on various platforms which resulted in several brands cutting ties with him. His actions encouraged several people who started indulging in antisemitism on social media.
