Mike Tyson is one of the mightiest names in the realm of boxing. Over the weekend, the 57-year-old boxing legend experienced nausea and dizziness due to an ulcer flare-up while on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles on Monday. However, he remains determined to face off against Jake Paul in their highly anticipated match.
According to his representative, Tyson felt unwell 30 minutes before landing but has since recovered and is “doing great.” However, as fans may have expected, the highly anticipated fight between him and Jake Paul was not canceled. Here’s what happened.
Much-Anticipated Match Between Mike Tyson And Jake Paul Is Still On
Jake Paul, the 27-year-old YouTuber-turned-boxer, took to social media on Monday to quell any rumors of the cancellation of an anticipated fight between him and Mike Tyson. “You love to make s–t up before knowing the facts for clicks/likes. Nothing changed #PaulTyson,” Paul wrote on X (formerly Twitter), as he reassured fans that the bout is still on.
The match between Tyson and Paul was sanctioned and set to broadcast live on Netflix. It is scheduled for July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Tyson has also expressed his excitement for the fight at a press conference earlier this month, calling it a “no-brainer.”

Jake Paul Is Confident About The Match Despite His Relative Inexperience
Jake Paul also echoed Mike Tyson’s enthusiasm as he called the match “quite literally the biggest fight of the 21st century.” He also asserted that the event holds global significance. “Because of the fact that it’s Mike Tyson versus me, but also the fact that it’s in 700 million households,” he said.
Mike Tyson is quite a legendary figure in the boxing realm, as he became the youngest heavyweight champion in 1986 by defeating Trevor Berbick. He boasts an impressive 50-6-2 record with 44 knockouts. In contrast, Paul holds a 9-1 record with six knockouts.
Meanwhile, Jake Paul is relatively inexperienced. Yet, he remains confident. “I’m a natural-born heavyweight,” he declared. “I’m gonna show Mike who has more power. I think he’s underestimating me, I think everyone else is underestimating me,” he added.
