From the ‘Suicide Squad’ to the big spin-off show the ‘Peacemaker,’ James Gunn had left quite a huge mark in DCEU before diving back to Marvel Cinematic Universe. The HBO Max hit featured John Cena’s titular character teaming up with Argus members in order to stop a uniquely terrifying alien invasion.
The show was such a big hit that the studio was very quick to order another season. The episodes from the first season were confirmed to take place in DCEU. But now, the question is, will it stay same for the season 2 as well? Or there might be some changes? Well, James Gunn is here to answer!

Will ‘Peacemaker’ Season 2 Continue To Be A Part Of DCEU?
With Ezra Miller’s ‘The Flash’ on the horizon, some huge changes are about to come in the DCEU timeline. Although the release date of the second season of Peacemaker is still in the dark, it most likely will be after the Scarlet Speedster’s solo outing.
Now, the question is where would Peacemaker’s show be in the canon heading into Season 2? Will it be considered on its own? Part of the Snyderverse? Part of the DCEU’s new timeline? In order to answer all these questions raised by a fan on Twitter, James Gunn has clarified, “Yes, Peacemaker is still and will continue to be DCEU.”

Although no further elaborations were given, it is safe to say that ‘Peacemaker’ is always gonna follow DCEU wherever it goes.
James Gunn Gets All Emotional!
In a recent audio clip, Gunn shared Peacemaker’s emotional journey as he deciphers his newfound friendships and deals with his father’s looming presence.
Gunn said, “I know what Peacemaker’s emotional journey is, y’know, I know where he is now, I know where he ends up. I mean, we see where he ends up, in some ways he ends up in a good place, he’s been cleared by Adebayo, she sacrificed her own relationship with her mother to clear him.”
“And we see at least the beginnings of a friendship between him and Amelia Harcourt, and a true friendship between him and, y’know, some of the other characters. But we also see his father looms, whether or not he was alive, and whatever that infection is that his father is still there, is very much a part of who he is,” Gunn Clarified.
