McAvoy who’s making headlines for his latest psychological thriller movie ‘Speak No Evil’, shared on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen that he had a big crush on Jennifer Aniston since his childhood and was lucky enough to meet her at a Hollywood party but also noting that “it wasn’t great”.
James McAvoy shared, “I did meet her, and it wasn’t great,” before clarifying his remarks, adding, “Not because she’s not great.” And then McAvoy shared the awkward tale.
Lucy Liu was the one who had to introduce him to Jennifer. He continued, “I got parked right beside Jennifer Aniston,’ McAvoy said. ‘And just as [Liu] was like, “Hey, guys, meet my new friend James,” instead of saying that, she got pulled aside by a guy she went to high school with. She went away and I was just left standing with all these people going. The whole situation became progressively Awkward.

Even though James McAvoy was new to everything, he continued to introduce himself to the friend group by saying, “Hey, what’s up, I’m new in town”. He added things got more awkward when he introduced himself to Jennifer: “So you’re Jennifer Aniston, and you’re in Friends,” before admitting, “It was rough. But she was lovely.”

Meeting your celebrity crush is a dream for many but it was sort of a nightmare for McAvoy. On Watch What Happens Live, Cohen and his other celebrity guest, actress Edie Falco, responded to James’s awkward story with loud groans and he spun around in his chair to demonstrate his embarrassment.
