The WWE legend John Cena has been half-naked on the screen for half of his life during his WWE matches. But the real show came when he came out nearly naked during an Oscars skit this year. It took a lot of courage to come out without the clothes in front of a room full of A-list celebrities.
Cena compared the act to filming sex scenes for movies. He doesn’t find the latter as intimate and daunting, so nothing could ever beat the challenge of going to the Oscars stage naked for him.
John Cena Says Filming Sex Scenes Is Embarrassing, Not Intimate
In an interview with Club Shay Shay, John Cena admitted that filming intimate scenes for films is “not pleasant, it’s the worst”. He continued, “There are so many people you need to make a movie, there’s nothing intimate about it. Nothing. Like it’s embarrassing.”
Cena further recalled filming an intimate scene for ‘Trainwreck‘ opposite Amy Schumer in 2015: “On top of that, to do a comedic sex scene, where you’re like, making fun of yourself? They literally [said] ‘Try to have the most awkward sex you possibly can.’ I don’t want to say it sucks, but it’s different than you all think it was.”
However, Cena compared his movie sex scenes to his appearing naked on live television and feels there’s nothing tougher than that.

Cena Expected “Full D*ck And Nuts” Oscars Appearance
The WWE star recalled the event when there were top celebrities present at the Oscars, from top directors, producers and actors, and he had to come out nearly naked, which made it a bit awkward but it was supposed to be a funny skit. He said, “I got all the people behind the camera, but then I walk out in front of a room of my peers, many of which I’ve never met because I haven’t worked my way up to meet [them].”
He continued, “I have the most decorated performers, producers, directors in one room and I’m gonna go out there with my balls in the wind, with an index card covering my stuff like, ‘Hey guys, is this funny? Are we good?’”
The ‘Peacemaker’ actor thought that he would be fully naked for the award night adding, “I expected full d*ck and nuts, but it’s Disney, so they put tape on my buttcrack and stuff. That was even more embarrassing. Going out there with a taped butthole? It’s tough.”
