When a massive Hollywood project turns into a messy legal battle, things can get pretty ugly and incredibly lonely very fast. That’s exactly what happened to Justin Baldoni on the set of the 2024 romance drama, ‘It Ends with Us.’
But breaking his silence on the whole feud with Blake Lively reminded him of who his real friends are. Over a year after the courtroom drama, Justin and his wife Emily Baldoni received love and support from the people who have known the actor since day one.
Justin Baldoni Receives Support From Television Family
On July 8, Justin Baldoni and Emily dropped a video on Instagram, reflecting on the conclusion of his legal battle with Blake Lively. The post received a plethora of supportive comments. But the ones that stood out were from Justin’s former co-stars from ‘Jane the Virgin,’ Gina Rodriguez and Brett Dier.
The duo showed their loyalty to the actor and his wife in comments. “Love you friends. Por vida [For life],” Rodriguez wrote after a heart emoji. Dier also added heart emojis and wrote, “I love you guys.”
These comments show that the friendship among the actors in the CW network production from 2014 to 2019 still runs deep. Moreover, this isn’t the first time fans got to see the love firsthand. In 2019, Justin sang at Gina’s wedding to Joe LoCicero.
While speaking to US Weekly in 2024 about Justin, Gina said, “Justin is also one of my closest friends, and we talk all the time.” Meanwhile, this was indeed a great opportunity for Justin and Emily to express their genuine gratitude to their community.
It has supported them over the past two months since the conflict with Lively was resolved. It stemmed from the lawsuit alleging a hostile work environment. “So many of you had discernment, and you used your intuition, and you trusted that, and you have given your time to fight for us,” the actor said.
“Thank you does not feel like enough, but we’re here in large part because of so many of you and all of our friends and family, and one thing that we’ve learned is that when God presses the reset button, and everything else is stripped away, that’s when love shows up.”
Breaking Multi-year Silence And Moving On
The couple, who have been married since 2013, shared their thoughts candidly to their followers. “We have not spoken publicly for the better part of the last two years,” Justin said at the start of the video.

“And it’s not because we haven’t had anything to say, because Lord knows we have, but it just felt like every time we went to make a video like this, we wanted to speak, something was telling us not to. It just didn’t feel like the right time.”
As for Emily, she thanked people who supported them and sounded relieved about how things turned out. For context, the legal drama began in December 2024, when Lively filed a complaint against Baldoni. She accused him of s–ual harassment during the filming of ‘It Ends With Us.’
Justin faced accusations of retaliation through a smear campaign against Blake to ruin her professional reputation. He denied the claims and filed a countersuit against her. In June 2025, the court dismissed his countersuit for lack of evidence of defamation and extortion.
However, the conflict began to de-escalate in spring and reached a compromise in May. This was a month after the presiding judge’s decision, which dismissed 10 of 13 complaints Blake had made. These included those related to s–ual harassment.
And that’s how Baldoni finally escaped the legal mess while maintaining his good reputation and having his old friends at his side. While things got lonely, the actor received love and support from people who never gave up on him.
