Kanye West Is Officially Dropped By The Former Law Firm

One of the most conflicted and controversial personalities that came out in 2022 has to be Kanye West acquiring the top position. Ye has displayed the most disruptive and evocative behavior since his 2018 episodes. First, he harassed and bullied his ex-wife Kim Kardashian and her then-boyfriend Pete Davidson. But, during the Paris Fashion Week 2022, he introduced T-shirts that had ‘White Lives Matter’ printed on them which triggered racial sentiments and he continued his attack aiming at the Jews with his anti-Semitism.

After the whole fiasco, he decided to launch his 2024 Presidential election campaign. In November 2022, he released many promotional videos and posts on his social media handles. The rapper even approached Donald Trump to be his running mate. However, he declined, and the ‘Donda’ rapper came on ‘Infowars’ and tainted and tarnished his credibility as an artist and human being. Since then, he has been low-key, but there are pending lawsuits against him for which the courts and his legal firm are trying to get hold of him. After diligent efforts to track him down, the law firm has dropped him as a client.

In January 2023, a Manhattan Federal Judge asked the law firm representing Kanye West to work “harder” to submit their papers. Greenberg Traurig is a law firm founded in South Florida that started with 75 attorneys and today expanded over three continents, 44 locations with 2,650 attorneys. The firm was representing Kanye West during the 2022 copyright infringement case. Marshall Jefferson sued him for sampling ‘Move Your Body’  in his last album ‘Donda’. Ultra International Music Publishing filed a complaint at the New York US District Court.

Now, after a tough search to find the rapper, the firm officially severed ties with Ye on February 1st, 2023. AllHipHop has exclusively broken the news after acquiring papers from Greenberg Traurig. The law firm has been behind Kanye West since November 2022. Kanye’s new attorney made it possible for the firm to reach him and serve him the papers. Attorney Nina D. Boyajian wrote in the court documents, “On January 18, 2023, an attorney based in California contacted my firm advising that he would be representing ‘Ye on some of his legal matters’. “During the course of several emails and a phone call with this attorney, I requested that he coordinate personal service of the Order on Ye”.

She continued, “On February 1, 2023, the attorney referenced above emailed me the executed Certificate of Service attached hereto as Exhibit A. ‘I declare under penalty of perjury under the laws of the United States of America that the foregoing is true and correct’ “.

It was not only the law firm that was searching for Kanye West! His former manager Thomas St. John, an Irish businessman, is also on the lookout for Ye. The businessman owns an accounting firm ‘Thomas St. John Group’. The two met in March 2021, and both agreed to work together on Kanye’s brand Yeezy. The rapper assured him to pay $300,000 retainer monthly. However, Ye did not pay the assured money and breached the agreement after he fired him.

Now, the manager is suing him for $4.5 million. However, Thomas has constantly failed to provide papers to Kanye. The plaintiff must serve the notice to the defendants for the lawsuit to get filed in court.  In the filing, he assured, “We will continue to make diligent and reasonable attempts to serve defendants even going as far as hiring “appropriate agencies” to help them locate him”. Thomas St. John has asked for more time from the court to locate Kanye. Recently, he has been spotted on various occasions with his wife Bianca Censori.
