Kevin Spacey was once one of the most loved and respected actors in Hollywood. Known for his versatility, Spacey played all kinds of roles beautifully. This includes his performance in films like ‘Seven‘, ‘American Beauty‘, and ‘The Usual Suspect‘ among others.
However, everything came crashing down after he was accused of sexual misconduct. Recently, his lawyers claimed that one of the victims of his abuse had manufactured the allegations. So what are the exact allegations against the 63-year-old disgraced actor?
The Allegations Against Kevin Spacey
In 2017, right after film producer Harvey Weinstein was called out by several women of sexual assault, Spacey was one of those who was affected by the Weinstein effect.
On October 29, 2017, actor Anthony Rapp alleged that Kevin made a sexual advance toward him at a 1986 party. Rapp was 14 at that time while Spacey (who was drunk at that party) was 26.
Spacey issued an apology to Rapp for his behavior and stated that he doesn’t remember the encounter. On September 9, 2020, he was sued by Rapp for sexual assault, sexual battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress under the Child Victims Act.
After this, 15 people came out to talk about their experience with Spacey. This includes anchorwoman Heather Unruh, who alleged her son was sexually assaulted by Spacey. Filmmaker Tony Montana, actor Roberto Cavazos Richard Dreyfuss’s son Harry and eight crew members of ‘House of Cards.’
He was accused of groping and behaving in an inappropriate way with young men. Spacey quickly came out as gay right after the allegations and he was accused of using his homosexuality to shift focus from sexual abuse.

Spacey’s Lawyer Says Rapp Manufactured The Allegations
According to Variety, Spacey’s attorney claimed that Anthony Rapp created sexual misconduct allegations against the Oscar winner out of jealousy and his own stalled career.
“He blames Mr. Spacey for everything that hasn’t gone well in his life,” Jennifer L. Keller, an attorney for Spacey said on Thursday during the actor’s civil trial.
Keller said that Rapp “peaked around the year 2000 and he grew bitter about not getting parts as an openly gay man.”
“This was something that never should have happened,” Peter Saghir, Rapp’s attorney, said during his opening arguments. “Kevin Spacey made a sexual advance on Anthony when he was 14 to gratify his sexual desires,” he said. The actor’s team is fighting Rapp’s $40 million civil lawsuit in Manhattan federal court.
