The Kardashian-Jenner clan is known for their explicit fashion and makeup choices. While most women in the clan have grown to be pretty successful in whatever they put their hands to, Kim Kardashian‘s brands have been in the talks for a while now.
The model and businesswoman recently made it to the headlines for introducing an edible lingerie in her Valentine’s Day lineup. She later got limelight for introducing some unconventional elements in her recently launched make-up brand Skkn. As she continues to hog the limelight, her family is there to cheer for her. However, her mother Kris Jenner might just have done something that has backfired.
Did Kris Jenner Have A Filter On During Makeup Review Of Kim Kardashian’s Products?
Kris Jenner is looked at as the matriarch of the Kardashian-Jenner clan. For the world, she is the leading lady of a clan of glamorous and successful black women who rule the entertainment industry. But for these women, she’s a mother who loves her children beyond everything.
Having said that, Kris Jenner isn’t one to shy away when it comes to cheering for Kim Kardashian. After the launch of Kim’s recently launched makeup brand Skkn, the most important women in her life — her mother Kris Jenner and daughter North West — took to social media to review and promote her products. While North’s review was hilarious and quickly gained traction on social media, Kris Jenner’s seemingly genuine, but allegedly foul attempt drew backlash.
The matriarch has found herself amid controversy as she allegedly promoted daughter Kim Kardashian’s new Skkn by Kim makeup line with an Instagram filter on. In a video posted on Instagram, the 68-year-old momager, alongside her makeup artist Nikki, showcased a smokey eye look while preparing for a show during Paris Fashion Week.
As Nikki detailed the makeup products used, fans couldn’t help but notice the seemingly flawless appearance. Deeming such a seamless look impossible to achieve, fans accused Kris of heavy filtering. “More filters than Marlboro Lights,” one social media user commented. “Can we see it without a filter?” another one asked.

While a third one made a matter of fact statement with a laughing face emoji, stating, “And of course a heavy-duty filter“. Some were just disappointed that the star used a filter during the makeup live. “Not the make-up with a filter on Kris,” another user wrote with a crying face emoji.
This isn’t the first time Jenner has faced backlash for filtered content. In a similar incident in August, followers criticized her and her glam squad for consistently posting images where they hide wrinkles and pores with filters. A make-up expert asked the clan to take a on are authentic approach towards make-up.
“As a professional makeup artist, I find it disheartening that you have to put a filter on her. If this is her people telling you that you can’t post it unless it’s filtered, shame on them,” the professional wrote.
“At what point will this family stop putting these insane expectations on themselves and their fans?” another fan commented. One of their social media photos was so filtered that fans speculated if it was an AI treated image.

Skkn By Kim Makeup Is Reaching Heights Of Success
Despite the marketing hiccup, Kardashian’s Skkn by Kim makeup line has so far been a successful venture. Many of her products have reportedly been sold out shortly after the launch. The release marked a strategic move for Kardashian, who shut down her KKW Beauty brand two years ago. The businesswoman had said she wanted to streamline her brands into a cohesive consumer-friendly experience.
“We had KKW Beauty, KKW Fragrance, and then would have done KKW Skin,” she said during a recent interview with People. “The customer would have to go to three different sites in order to purchase products with different shipping costs, different manufacturers, and we’d have three different social media accounts,” she explained.
Though her makeup is no longer called KKW beauty, she asserted that the new products are only better than her old stuff if not similar.
“This is the evolution of who I am and the original brand — and it was important that the quality of the product is better, the packaging is better, and I am listening to what my consumers want,” she said during the interview.
Her mother Kris was clearly trying to help her daughter grow further. But her move went terribly wrong. It would now be interesting to see how whether or not it reflects on Kim’s business.
