Drake Bell might be taking a trip down memory lane soon—just not in the way you might expect. The former Nickelodeon star, who’s been making waves with his recent documentary ‘Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV‘, hasn’t completely shut the door on the idea of a ‘Drake & Josh‘ reboot.
And let’s just say, if it happens, it won’t be the usual trip down nostalgia lane that everyone’s been milking lately. Nope, Bell’s got something more unique in mind. The idea of cashing in on the reboot trend doesn’t exactly sit right with him, and who can blame him?

‘Drake & Josh’ Reunion? Maybe, But Not How You Remember
Drake Bell recently spilled the tea on what a reboot might look like in an interview with The Patriot-News. “I would love to. We’ve talked about it,” Bell shared when asked about the possibility of reuniting with his onscreen brother, Josh Peck.
But he was quick to add, “But I also didn’t want to do it when everyone was doing the reboots. It’s like, ‘Okay, of course, let’s do a reboot because everyone’s doing reboots.’ If we’re going to do something, it should be more special. Let’s hit ’em with a bang, instead of, ‘oh, another reboot.’”
So what’s Bell’s vision for this potential reunion? Forget the old sibling rivalry and teenage drama. Instead, he’s eyeing a buddy comedy format that would take the duo far from their original characters.
“I don’t think I would do us playing the characters from the show, or having [our sister] Meg,” he explained. “I think, luckily for us, it’s our names, so we can still play Drake and Josh. But I think it’d be funnier if we go on to doing other buddy comedies, you know. Something that is kind of a surprise, a little different. It would be more interesting.”

Drake Bell Is Healing And Moving Forward After ‘Quiet On Set’
Drake Bell’s thoughts on a possible ‘Drake & Josh‘ reboot come hot on the heels of his eye-opening revelations in the ‘Quiet on Set‘ docuseries. He discussed the dark side of his early career in it.
His experiences, particularly the abuse he suffered from Nickelodeon dialogue coach Brian Peck. Peck pled no contest and was sentenced to 16 months in prison, as well as ordered to register as a sex offender. For Bell, diving back into that world comes with its own set of emotional challenges.
Despite the tough subjects tackled in the docuseries, Bell has been overwhelmed by the positive response. “There’s been a ton of support. And when you are diving into something like that, you are very trepidatious. It’s an emotional roller coaster. You don’t know how people are going to react, or what’s going to happen, or what the aftermath is going to be,” Bell admitted.
But it seems the risk has paid off. “People are coming up and sharing their stories. And it’s been really nice,” he said.
