The notoriety of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry is known industry-wide now! Since they crossed the Atlantic, the couple has been on a spree to malign the royal family’s name. Harry and Meghan resorted to media platforms to tell their story of struggle while being a part of the royal family. Since their move to the US, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have signed multi-million dollar deals to sustain themselves in Hollywood and create a space.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle signed a $20 million deal with Spotify for Meghan’s podcast, ‘Archetypes.’ Guests like Mariah Carey, Serena Williams, Mindy Kaling, and others graced the podcast. Along with these dream guests, Meghan Markle wished to have several guests on the podcast, and Taylor Swift was one of them. However, the Princess of Pop declined the invitation.
Taylor Swift Declines The Offer To Appear On Meghan Markle’s ‘Archetypes’ Podcast Despite A Handwritten Note
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are drowning deeper in a problem puddle with plummeting finances. Since they left the UK, the couple has forged connections and deals with several people and media giants to diversify their revenue stream. One such deal was with Spotify for Meghan Markle’s podcast ‘Archetypes.’
The podcast proved beneficial for both parties. It beat Joe Rogan’s ‘The Joe Experience’ to become the most-listened podcast on the platform. In 2022, it won the People’s Choice Award for a pop podcast. Meghan managed to bring in some important female figures like Paris Hilton, Issa Rae, Deepika Padukone, and others. But Markle was unable to bring Taylor Swift on her podcast. In an article in The Wall Street Journal, the outlet said that the host wrote a handwritten letter to invite the pop star on the podcast. However, Taylor declined the offer via her representative.

The Platform Has Parted Ways With The Couple
Spotify is no longer the home for Archewell Audio’s ‘Archetypes.’ The two entities behind the podcast have released an official statement. It stated, “Spotify and Archewell Audio have mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together.”
There are two sides to the story as to why Spotify and Archewell Audio have called it quits on the reported $20 million deal. One source said that the couple is looking for a new home for the podcast. And another source informed me that Meghan and Harry failed to produce more content for the podcast platform.
