The defamation case between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard has finally ended for good. The case was filed by Depp, while Heard counter-sued. The duo battled in court over an op-ed she had written for The Washington Post in 2018.
The couple split in 2016. After this, the ‘Aquaman‘ claimed she was a survivor of domestic violence, without mentioning Depp by name. He sued her for $50 million in damages. The jury determined that Heard acted with actual malice when writing her op-ed. They awarded Depp $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages in his defamation suit.
