Nicole Kidman Heats Up The Screen With A High-Stakes Affair In Steamy First Look Of ‘Babygirl’

Oscar-winner Nicole Kidman, the versatile actress who has managed to blow our minds with each one of her projects, is risking everything in her latest role in the upcoming erotic thriller ‘Babygirl‘. Fans have finally gotten a glimpse at the steamy first trailer of the film, and it has definitely stirred the pot.

A24 unveiled Kidman in a sizzling look on Tuesday, just a month after the film premiered at the Venice International Film Festival in August. Penned and directed by the filmmaker behind the notorious teen horror hit ‘Bodies Bodies Bodies‘, the film promises to be a wild ride of temptation and consequences. Here’s what the trailer suggests and what the actress has to say about her upcoming film.

What Is ‘Babygirl’ About?

In her upcoming film ‘Babygirl‘, Nicole Kidman will play a ruthless CEO who puts everything on the line—her career, her family, her reputation—for a passionate affair with her much younger intern, played by Harris Dickinson. Also in the cast are ‘Talk to Me‘ star Sophie Wilde and Antonio Banderas as Kidman’s on-screen husband.

Fresh off her Netflix roles in ‘A Family Affair‘ and ‘The Perfect Couple‘, Kidman opened up about her love of working for women directors who, as per her conversation with People, are directors “who are taking a huge bite out of this world right now.”

Earlier in April too, the ‘The Others‘ actress talked about the same as she said, “Mimi Cave, Halina Reijn, who I just finished working with on Babygirl, and people like Susanne Bier and Karyn Kusama. These women are either in their prime or are in that sort of launching stage. I just love being a part of their world and their vision and being able to go, I’m here, I’ll support you.”

Nicole Kidman Says She Enjoyed Filming Intimate Scenes For ‘Babygirl’

During the premiere of her film at the Venice Film Festival, Nicole Kidman opened up about the process of shooting intimate scenes. She revealed that she enjoyed the process which is often uncomfortable for many.

I never felt exploited doing those intimate scenes in Babygirl. That’s what made it so compelling—being in the hands of Halina, because I knew she wasn’t gonna exploit me,” the actress said, further praising the whole cast and crew as “very gentle“.

There was enormous care taken by all of us. We were all very, very gentle with each other and helped each other,” she added. She is set to appear in the historical drama ‘Blitzwith Harris Dickinson coming soon.

Meanwhile, ‘Babygirl‘ is set to hit theaters on December 25.
