The list of Hollywood Walk of Fame star recipients for this year has been announced. On Friday, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce released the two dozen names of the honorees. The list acknowledges a plethora of creative people in different fields. The honorees were chosen from among hundreds of nominations.
Each year, the committee selects its crop of recipients across five categories of entertainment from a list of hundreds of nominees. The Chamber then ratifies the final selections. Hollywood Walk Of Fame, A Tourist Attraction
The Hollywood Walk of Fame originated in 1958. It is situated on the Hollywood Boulevard and stretches from east to west. The Walk attracts about 10 million visitors annually. Tourists flock here from around the world to see the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The Chinese Theatre nearby has also played an important role in making tourism the largest industry in Los Angeles County. Celebrity impersonators and crowds give these areas the feeling of an amusement park. While many clubs and hotels fill up around the weekends for late-night partying, the Hollywood club scene is a haven for thumping music and social gatherings.
