Since many of the employees bid adieu to the micro-blogging platform, Twitter has triggered speculations about the future of the company.

    The head of Twitter however maintained that the site is witnessing “all-time high usage”. We all know, it is true and also false. Over the few days since Musk take over many celebrities have turned to other social media platforms until further notice. Some even deleted their accounts. Is this how Twitter will go down?

    The reported mass eviction and the voluntary exodus of many employees in the world’s largest micro-blogging site has spurned concerns about the future the company holds. Elon Musk has maintained vividly amidst the triggering apprehensions that Twitter is witnessing “all-time high” usage.

    Following Musk’s ultimatum of working “long hours at high intensity”, horde of employees are estimated to quit the besieged social media company. These demanding ultimatum from the head of the beleaguered micro-blogging site has already cost the company hundreds of it’s employees. To bring attention to this historic downfall, netizens have trended the hashtag #RIPTwitter ironically on its platform itself.

    Many engineers who were responsible to fix bugs and prevent service outages have quit their jobs. Reportedly a version of Twitter used by Twitter employees began slowing down and it’s only a matter of time before the break down of the public version of the Twitter app. Since the situation at Twitter looks bleak right now, social media users have flooded the platform with farewell messages and memes.

    “I will miss you all if this is indeed the end,” British-American journalist and broadcaster Mehdi Hasan wrote on Twitter. “It’s easy to be snarky & make references to ‘the hellsite’ (I do!) but I met wonderful people on here, connected with people I’d have never connected with, literally got jobs I wouldn’t have gotten thanks to this site.”

    #RIPTwitter was among the top trending hashtags worldwide with more than a million tweets.
