Robert De Niro was born on August 17, 1943, in New York City. The actor hailed from an artistic household. His father Robert De Niro Sr. was a painter and sculptor. De Niro’s mother, Virginia Admiral, was a painter, too. When he was very young, his parents divorced, and the actor’s mother raised him. Robert hopped from one school to another. For his elementary schooling, he attended PS 41. Initially, at Elisabeth Irwin High School, he later joined the High School of Music And Art. During his school days, he participated in the school’s production of ‘The Wizard of Oz.’ He did not complete his schooling and dropped out of high school at the age of 16.
