Robert Downey Jr. had a real-life Iron Man moment. He’s been financially aiding Armie Hammer. The ‘Call Me Be Your Name‘ actor’s world toppled when his ex-girlfriend revealed that the 34-year-old star fantasized about barbecuing and roasting her body parts. Since then, more of Hammer’s cannibalistic and rape fantasies surfaced.
Following the controversial reports, Hammer stepped into rehab on June 8, 2021. A source reported to Vanity Fair that Robert Downey Jr. financially supported Hammer’s stay at the Florida rehab.

The Reactions Of Friends And Family To Armie Hammer’s Cannibal and Rape Fantasies Scandal
Multiple reports and sources talked of Armie Hammer’s cannibalistic and other related concerning behaviors. Following the report made by his ex-girlfriend, more stories flooded in. An anonymous Instagram account @HouseofEffie shared a DM that talked about how Hammer allegedly told a partner he wished to “cut off one of your toes and keep it with me in my pocket so I always had a piece of you in my possession.” Another DM claimed that Hammer called himself “100% cannibal.”
Amidst all this, Armie and Elizabeth were in the middle of their difficult divorce. Elizabeth’s friend informed, “Elizabeth was aware of some infidelity, but she wanted to make the marriage work and thought that he did too.”
Another friend of Chambers and Hammers added, “My mind is blown. He always appeared so totally normal, he loves grilling, I mean — he was so excited about buying a new smoker and he would have friends over for barbecues and cocktails. None of this seems like the Armie that I know. He needs help. Something is terribly wrong, and I just wonder if it’s drugs.”
What Made Robert Downey Jr. Pay For Hammer’s Rehab Stay?
Robert Downey, 57, who himself is a recovering addict, paid for six months of Hammer’s stay at the Florida rehab. It was done quietly. Only now it has come into people’s knowledge when Vanity Fair quoted a source close to Armie.
Hammer returned to the Cayman Islands after he stepped out of rehab after a nine-month treatment. He’s been focusing on himself and his two children—Harper, 7, and Ford, 5, who he shares with Elizabeth Chambers.
Downey hasn’t only helped Armie but also looked out for his family. He took Elizabeth Chambers and her kids to his house to help them escape from the thunder of the media, chasing them after the news headlined that Armie Hammer is working as a Timeshare salesman at the Cayman Islands. Regarding this matter, Hammer’s attorney commented, “I can’t confirm or deny the report because Armie hasn’t addressed it. I just think it’s sh*tty that, if he is selling timeshares, the media is shaming him for having a ‘normal job.”
