Russo brothers– Joe and Anthony are clear that their dedication for their own independent studio, AGBO, stall them from doing anything with Marvel any time soon. The brothers have already returned to Marvel’s parent company, Disney. Through AGBO, they’re producing a live-action adaptation of Disney’s 1997 animated feature ‘Hercules’.

Why Russo Brothers Won’t Partake With Marvel?
Joe and Anthony Russo are clear that they are dedicated in their own independent studio film, ‘Hercules‘ and don’t expect to make another movie with Marvel any time soon. “We won’t be ready to do anything with Marvel until the end of the decade,” Joe Russo says. He revealed that the forthcoming live-action ‘Hercules’ will push the boundaries of cinema.
“[‘Hercules is] a little bit more experimental in tone, a little bit more experimental in execution,” said Russo. “I think they’re excited to see what we can all bring to it in a way that isn’t just a reinterpretation of the animated film.” Russo says the live-action ‘Hercules’ will also be a musical — and share the original’s unconventional approach.

What Is The Chief Source Of Inspiration For The Remake?
The ‘Avengers: Endgame‘ director cited the nation’s obsession with TikTok as his chief source of inspiration for the remake. “I think they’re excited to see what we can all bring to it in a way that isn’t just a reinterpretation of the animated film,” said Russo.
“Audiences today have been trained by TikTok, right? What is their expectation of what that musical looks like and feels like,” Russo continued. “That can be a lot of fun and help us push the boundaries a little bit on how you execute a modern musical.” ‘Hercules’ reimagines the story of the Greek demigod as a rising celebrity who gains notoriety thanks to his acts of heroism.
