After being MCU’s cornerstone for years, Samuel L. Jackson gets to headline an MCU project. In the limited-series ‘Secret Invasion,’ Jackson, as Nick Fury, returns to fight the Skrulls’ invasion before they replace the entire human species. He will be guided by old friends and loyal agents fighting the same fight as him. In a moment of real-life heroism, Jackson called out the delinquent MCU fandom for picking on Brie Larson.
Brie Larson, who plays Captain Marvel, has been the target of brutal online hate, with many people blaming her for the failure of ‘Captain Marvel.’ Jackson has praised Larson for dealing with the discourse around her MCU tenure. He also talked about getting to do a Nick Fury story where we find the character returning to his past as a spy instead of calling in the Avengers to save the world.

Samuel L. Jackson On Getting To Lead ‘Secret Invasion’
‘Secret Invasion‘ is Nick Fury’s turn to the hero. But it wasn’t something Samuel L. Jackson was looking forward to. What still upsets him is that he didn’t get to be in ‘Black Panther’ movies. But ‘Secret Invasion’ is the story Jackson wanted to tell about Nick Fury’s early days as a deadly shadow operative before the ‘Avengers Initiative.’
The ‘Secret Invasion’ actor told the magazine, ” They didn’t let me go to Wakanda, which I was kind of upset about. How could Nick Fury not know about Wakanda? They said, ‘Well, you do know but you can’t go. I always wanted to tell the story about who Nick was before he had these superhero friends — when he lived in the shadow world as a spy, and how he connected with these people. ‘Secret Invasion’ is not a superhero movie. It’s gritty and dark.”
