After much speculation and a social media frenzy around the viral video of Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift from the Golden Globes, Gomez took to social media to set the record straight. The pop sensation was spotted spilling some tea to close friends Taylor Swift and Keleigh Teller at the awards show, leading to speculation about a supposed run-in with Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner.
Gomez has however now clarified that it wasn’t the Chalamet-Jenner couple she was talking about. In a comment on an Instagram post by E! News, Gomez debunked the gossip. “Noooooo I told Taylor about two of my friends who hooked up. Not that that’s anyone’s business,” she wrote.
The drama gained even more traction on social media as Selena Gonez reportedly has old beef with Kylie Jenner, while Swift had a feud with Jenner’s cousin Kim Kardashian. Selena Gomez Is In Good Spirits With Beau Benny Blanco
A source close to Gomez, clarified her stance telling PEOPLE that the singer “was absolutely not referencing anything about Timothée or Kylie“. They further noted that she “never even saw or spoke to” the couple during the event.
Gomez was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Television Series — Musical or Comedy for her role in ‘Only Murders in the Building’, and attended the 81st annual Golden Globes with her beau Benny Blanco. Though she did not win the award, she posted a happy picture with Blanco, stating that it’s a win for her anyway.
Swift meanwhile vied for the newly introduced category of Cinematic and Box Office Achievement with her concert film ‘Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour’. Although Swift also didn’t clinch the honor, she has been hogging the headlines for several other reasons after the Golden Globes.
