The issue of disrespect towards actresses in the film industry is common. Many actresses have spoken about this openly, highlighting the discomfort they felt. Actress Anna Kendrick is the most recent addition to the list of women actors who are calling out people from the industry for being treated poorly.
Anna bashed a director who strategically dissed her in front of 100 other people while shooting for a movie. She also stated that the move was to gain dominance over her. Here’s everything she said.
Anna Kendrick Isn’t Taking Any Disrespect
Anna Kendrick was asked during an interview with ‘Happy Sad Confused‘ podcast to talk about the worst note she ever got from a director, and she held no bars while narrating how a director once disrespected her intentionally in front of several other people.

Anna claimed that the director mocked her skills. “I remember a director once in a room full of 100 extras or something being like, ‘Hey, on this next one just try something. Just make something up. Just improv something,” she said.
She continued, “And I did it, and then the director called cut and came over and, once again in front of 100 extras, was like, ‘Oof, let’s go back to the script!’”
Anna believed that it was more of a power move to disrespect her and assert dominance over her. But she handled the situation well. Kendrick continued, “It was very icky. And then the thing that I improved ended up in the trailer. So fuck you!”
Anna Kendrick Is A Director Herself Now
Anna Kendrick didn’t name the director who tried to dominate her. But the live audience present during the podcast was taken aback after hearing about the incident. They also cheered her when she revealed how she handled the situation.
The incident she mentioned is quite old, and now Kendrick herself has become a director with ‘Woman Of The Hour’ as her directorial debut. The actress also spoke about her experience being a filmmaker during the podcast.

“It’s a lot easier for me to talk in extreme detail about certain moments in certain scenes, or about movies that were inspirations than it is to answer the questions that come up the most frequently — ‘Why this project? Why did you want to direct?’” Kendrick said, asserting that the experience was great and that she made sure to remain humble with her cast and crew.
