Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas‘s divorce drama has been one of the hottest Hollywood topics for the past few months. After the couple decided to split, they got at loggerheads over their children’s custody. The divorce settlement soon turned ugly.
A few months into the drama, Turner had alleged that her husband was withholding her daughters’ passports to stop them from moving to the UK with them despite agreeing to send their eldest daughter to school there. Jonas had denied the allegations, asserting that he had no access to the children’s passports. Now, the ‘Game of Thrones‘ actress has dropped the allegations.

Why Did Sophie Turner Drop The Abduction Claims She Made Three Months Ago?
Adding another twist to the legal drama between Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas, Turner has decided to drop the child abduction claims against her estranged husband. The decision came three months after the former couple reached what was described as an “amicable” custody agreement for their two daughters — 3-year-old Willa and 1-year-old Delphine.
According to reports, both Turner and Jonas’s legal representatives jointly requested a judge in their federal case in New York to dismiss Turner’s previous filing. This was the same filing that accused Jonas of abducting their daughters.
The whole drama began in September last year when Turner filed a lawsuit against Jonas, seeking the “immediate return of children wrongfully removed or wrongfully retained.” She had claimed in her lawsuit that Jonas initiated the “wrongful retention” on September 20.
Turner claimed that she and Jonas had agreed during Christmas 2022 to make the UK their “forever home” and were in the process of looking for schools for their eldest daughter, Willa. However, Jonas allegedly withheld their daughters’ passports to stop them from leaving the US.
Jonas denied the “abduction” allegations through a statement from his representative. “Less than 24 hours later, Sophie advised that she wanted to take the children permanently to the UK. Thereafter, she demanded via this filing that Joe hand over the children’s passports so that she could take them out of the country immediately,” the rep told Page Six.
The source added, “This is an unfortunate legal disagreement about a marriage that is sadly ending. When language like ‘abduction’ is used, it is misleading at best, and a serious abuse of the legal system at worst.”

Turner-Jonas Legal Drama Continues While The Stars Are Seemingly Moving On
After that, the couple reached a temporary custody agreement for their toddlers in October 2023, lasting through January 2024. Come January, the actress has dropped the abduction charges, while the legal drama is yet to fully unfold.
As for their romantic status, both the stars have seemingly moved on and are finding solace in the companionships of other people. Turner has reportedly moved on with British aristocrat Peregrine Pearson and is “really happy” with their budding romance.
Meanwhile, Jonas has been spotted with model Stormi Bree at various locations, including an airport in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, as well as at Aspen where they enjoyed skiing together.
