Nina Dobrev made headlines in May for her unfortunate dirt bike accident. ‘The Vampire Diaries‘ actress fell on her one leg and got her knee snapped. At the time, she took to social media to share the news with her fans and also warned them against trying it.
Nina has been recovering since, and during a recent interview, opened up about her recovery journey. She also revealed that her doctors told her that she has been recovering ahead of her schedule, which is a good sign. However, the actress still has a long way to go before she fully recovers.

Nina Dobrev Is Recovering Well After Her Dirt Bike Accident
Nina Dobrev is going through a “very long process” of recovery after a recent accident that left her with a knee injury. The 35-year-old star gave an update about her recuperation to People, noting that doctors were pretty surprised after noticing her recovery. She said, “were pretty surprised” by how well she’s been doing since her bike accident. “I’m a little ahead of schedule in terms of healing.”
However, she revealed that her recovery might still take “nine months to a year,” and she’s only about a third of the way through that journey.
“So there’s still a way to go. And a lot of times at this point in the healing process, people get re-injured because they feel fine. And so they start doing normal things. So I have to kind of remind myself that I’m still healing and there’s still a little bit of time to go,” she said.

Nina Dobrev Was Spotted At The Olympics With Her Boyfriend
Nina Dobrev was also recently seen at the Paris Olympics with her boyfriend Shaun White. “Like I said, I’d never been before, so I had no idea how much walking there is,” she said as she revealed to People that it was her first time attending the games.
Dobrev continued, “All those streets are closed, so you have to walk from venue to venue and do all these things. And so he prearranged to have a wheelchair there so that I wouldn’t have to walk as much. We had my canes and he was there by my side taking care of me the whole time.”
Her boyfriend, Shaun White, has been supportive through her whole recovery journey. Though they met in 2012 before being formally introduced in 2019, their relationship took off swiftly. The duo made their relationship official on Instagram in 2020.
