When Gaten Matarazzo Revealed ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 Plot
Actor Matarazzo, who plays Dustin on the show, ended up revealing the season 4 lab plot in an interview in 2016. The shocking finale of ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4 Volume 1 discloses that Henry Creel (AKA 001) was behind the murders at the Hawkins Lab, killing most of the test subjects before Eleven sent him into the Upside Down. Though it transformed Henry into Vecna. The series of events also ended up connecting Eleven to the Upside Down world.
The plotline was talked about back in 2016. In an interview with Seventeen, Matarazzo had talked about one of his favorite fan theories on Reddit, not knowing he would eventually be right. He said, “It was crazy, I was just reading a fan theory off of Reddit that was apparently spot-on. I’m just so happy that it didn’t go viral until after [Season 4]. It was surprisingly accurate. I’m glad it didn’t gain too much traction before the show came out.“

The Reddit theory posted in 2016 predicted that most of the test subjects in the lab were dead, while others had been sent to the Upside Down and couldn’t get out. The theory was Matarazzo’s personal favorite and was shared even before season 2 of the show was announced. It wasn’t a true leak, it just happened to be a very accurate fan theory.
The season 4 finale is building up to be one of the most epic conclusions yet. It will have a two-hour-and-twenty-minute runtime and will feature a battle between Eleven and Vecna.
