Michael Sylvester Gardenzio Stallone was born on July 6, 1946, in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City to Francesco Stallone Sr. and Jacqueline Stallone. He used the stage name Mike Stallone until 1969 and in 1970 started using the stage name, Sylvester E. Stallone. Soon thereafter he moved to New York City with the motive of advancing his acting career and in 1972, he was all ready to give up when he tried and failed to get a job as an extra in ‘The Godfather’. He got his proper acting role around mid-1973 starring in ‘No Place to Hide’. From there he went on to work in the superhit sports drama ‘Rocky’ which made him a household name and in 1982, he starred in another box office and critical hit ‘Rambo: First Blood’ which went on to become a franchise.
