Taylor Swift was named the ‘biggest celebrity CO2 polluter’ last year and she seems determined to retain her crown as her jet-setting romance with Travis Kelce is contributing even more to CO2 emissions.

Taylor Swift Spent 12,622 Gallons Of Jet Fuel Worth $70,779 To Meet Travis Kelce
While everyone is in awe of how the two celebrities constantly show up for each other at concerts and games, what’s going unnoticed is the whirlwind of flights that they take. Many of us have seen Taylor cheering for her beau from the audience at several of his games. To make that happen, it took the pop sensation 12 journeys this year alone.
The flights that she took to reach him have guzzled up 12,622 gallons of jet fuel, valued at a whopping $70,779, according to an Instagram account ‘Taylor’s Swifts Jets.’ This amounts to a staggering 138 tons of CO2 emissions, which is almost as equal to the energy it would take for 17 houses for a year or the electricity consumption of 26.9 homes.
The environmental impact is so huge that to balance the damage out, Taylor would have to plant 2,282 trees and keep them alive and flourishing for a decade. While Swift does not seem to be even aware of this, her spokesperson has assured that she’s environmentally conscious.
“Before the tour kicked off in March of 2023, Taylor purchased more than double the carbon credits needed to offset all tour travel. The excess credits mean Taylor could have covered her latest romance alongside her planned tour travels,” the spokesperson said.
“The excess credits means Taylor could have accounted for more than enough to cover her latest romance springing up in the middle of her sell-out tour, with her trips to support Kelce upping her carbon emissions alongside her planned tour travels,” the spokesperson added.

Taylor Likely To Lead To More CO2 Emission In Coming Months
As the relationship flourishes, fans expect to see more of Taylor at Kelce’s games and more of Travis at her concerts after she resumes her tour in February. Swift is likely to jet more around the world, as she has already been hopping from Kansas City to New York and beyond for her boyfriend’s games.
She however seems acutely unaware that her carbon footprint is growing. And let’s not blame Travis Kelce alone. The ‘TIME person of the year’ is on a massive ‘Era’s Tour’, which features 151 shows across 5 continents.
Though it has been a great year for Taylor Swift, both in terms of her career and love life, her oblivion about the environmental impact she is causing might put her into a negative limelight.
