Conor Kennedy is set to exchange vows during a lavish wedding weekend in Brazil, with one unforgettable event taking place at the country’s most famous landmark.
Conor Kennedy Is Taking His Wedding To One Of Brazil’s Most Famous Landmarks
Swift’s former boyfriend Conor Kennedy is preparing a wedding celebration that is just as eye-catching. Kennedy briefly dated Taylor Swift in 2012 when he was 18, and she was 22. During their relationship, Swift bought a seven-bedroom home near the Kennedy family compound in Hyannis Port for $4.8 million, later selling it for a reported $1 million profit.

Now, the 31-year-old will celebrate his marriage to Brazilian pop star Giulia Marinho with a three-day event in Rio de Janeiro. One of its biggest highlights will be a lavish “blessing” dinner at the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue, which overlooks the city from Corcovado mountain.
Marinho, who performs under the name Giulia Be, previously shared why she insisted on getting married in Brazil. “One of the first things I said [to Conor was], ‘I love you, but I’m not getting married in Massachusetts,'” she said in an interview with Brazil’s Gshow magazine earlier this month.
She added, “I think Brazil is one of the best places to get married. We know how to do it, we give ourselves body and soul, and the party doesn’t end at 10 p.m. This is something really important that I wanted to show people.”
Kennedy and Marinho officially tied the knot during a small civil ceremony in Los Angeles in March. However, they always planned to host a much larger celebration in the bride’s hometown. The festivities will include the blessing dinner at Christ the Redeemer, which stands nearly 100 feet tall and sits about 2,300 feet above sea level with sweeping views of Rio de Janeiro.

According to Marinho, hundreds of guests from across the globe will attend the celebration. More than 150 members of the Kennedy family and the groom’s friends are also expected to travel to Brazil. Conor is the son of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and reports last year also revealed that President Donald Trump received an invitation.

Beyond the celebration, the couple will also hold a Roman Catholic wedding at Nossa Senhora do Carmo da Antiga Sé. It’s an iconic 16th-century Rococo landmark. Another dinner party will follow at a mansion in the city’s Botanical Garden neighborhood.
Kennedy and Marinho have also included a tribute to his late mother, Mary Richardson, in their relationship. Speaking to Gshow, Marinho revealed that they got matching Immaculate Heart of Mary tattoos in her honor. “We are both Catholic, and his mother died when he was 17 years old. And I thought it would be cool to do some kind of homage to Mary,” Marinho said. “So we did an Immaculate Heart of Mary [tattoo], which is a symbol that we knew we would never regret.”
Whether intentional or not, Conor Kennedy’s wedding plans are likely to fuel fresh comparisons with Taylor Swift’s reported blockbuster celebration. While Swift is expected to shut down Madison Square Garden, Kennedy is taking the festivities to Brazil’s most iconic landmarks.
