Taylor Swift’s composed reaction to Jo Koy’s Golden Globes joke is stealing the spotlight in the aftermath of the Golden Globe Awards. During Koy’s opening monologue, he compared Taylor Swift’s camera shots at the Golden Globes to an NFL game, jokingly noting the disparity.
“As you know, we came on after a football double header,” Koy said in his opening monologue. “The big difference between the Golden Globes and the NFL. On the Golden Globes, we have have fewer camera shots of Taylor Swift, I swear,” he said in an apparent jibe at Taylor Swift, who is currently dating NFL star Travis Kelce.
The ‘Blank Space‘ singer gave no reaction to the comment as she sipped on her unfazed. “Sorry about that,” Koy continued.
Taylor Swift’s fanbase was quick to storm social media with the incident. Many Swifties on social media suggested that her poised reaction resonated more positively than the joke itself. Olivia Levin, the creator of the @swiftiesforeternity fan account, said, “Maybe they should cut more to Taylor; she is slaying in that dress!”
Some others, however, agreed with Koy, stating that the NFL’s coverage of the pop sensation during Kansas City Chiefs games was indeed overdone. The NFL has defended its coverage of Taylor, citing a focus on “our players and a variety of other initiatives.”

In a Time magazine interview, Swift herself had opened up about the extensive coverage during NFL games. “I don’t know how they know what suite I’m in,” she says. “There’s a camera, like, a half-mile away, and you don’t know where it is, and you have no idea when the camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don’t know if I’m being shown 17 times or once,” she had said.
“I’m just there to support Travis,” she added. “I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads.”
Beyond the humor and coverage discussions, Swift’s movie ‘Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour‘ had landed a Golden Globes nomination in the novel category of “cinematic and box office achievement”, which recognizes movies that have achieved a global earning of $150 million, with $100 million coming from domestic sales.
