‘Suits‘ actor Neal McDonough is shedding some light on his career and how his loyalty to his wife got him fired from films and ultimately losing his home. The actor said he refused to kiss anyone else but his wife and a lot of projects cut him out because of that.
One of his biggest roles being in the hit series ‘Suits’, Neal played Sean Cahill who is a prosecutor for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. But before that, he faced difficulties in landing a good role because of his kissing rule.

Neal McDonough Put His Career On Stake For His Wife
Neal McDonough shot to fame in the 1990s and early 2000s, starring in a number of high-profile films and television shows. However, in 2010, he was fired from the ABC series Scoundrels, because he wasn’t “comfortable” getting intimate with a woman on camera.
Talking about it in a video, the actor said, “Several years ago I was really tested, I was fired from a TV show because I wouldn’t do a kissing sex scene. They said they needed me to do it for the ratings but … I told them up front, “This is something I’m not comfortable doing and I really just don’t want to do it.”‘
He continued, “They said, ‘You have to do it, or we’re going to fire you.’ I’m like, ‘Well, I’m not going to do it, so they fired me. I was blackballed for two years. I couldn’t get a job, and because of that, I lost my big beautiful house in Los Angeles, my shiny Mercedes, all my stuff, and my swagger. As you can imagine, at the time, I was really crushed.”
He also added that his catholic faith is what led him to make the decision. “I didn’t think it was the right thing to do. I really love my wife and as I’ve said, I’ll say it a million times, these lips are meant for one woman. If I’m in bed with another woman and I kiss another woman, guess what I’m actually doing? I’m kissing another woman. I don’t want my kids to see that. I really don’t want God to see that.”
The decision, as he said, took a toll on his career and he had to lose his home and a number of projects before starting to work again.
