And we have Lively to thank for it!

In a recent interview, Lively revealed that she fought to keep a Lana Del Rey song titled ‘Cherry’ in the movie. She also explained why it was important to have the song in the film.

Since the time of ‘Age Of Adaline’, Blake Lively has been a Lana Del Rey fan as it featured one of the artist’s songs, ‘Life Is Beautiful’. Lively has done it again in her latest book adaptation movie ‘It Ends With Us’. In her recent interview, the singer explained why she chose to keep the song in the soundtrack.

They begged me to take that song out of the movie, I’m not supposed to be talking about this, but because they felt like it was too charged and heavy and things are still good with Ryle,” Lively said in her Hits Radio interview. “And I was like ‘F*ck’. The moment Atlas enters, things are charged and heavy,” she added.

Like there’s conflict, there’s pain, there’s turmoil, there’s tension, because you’re like ‘Oh my God, my soulmate, the person who got away in life, who’s been haunting me in everything I do and everywhere I go is here now and we still had that connection,’” Lively further explained.

And you can still be in love with this person and this person comes in and you’re like your insides are gonna be a mess. So that’s why,” she explained.

Taylor Swift and Blake Lively’s friendship is known to be one of the strongest in Hollywood. And so, when it came to featuring her bff’s songs in her film, Lively did not shy away. Swift’s ‘My Tears Ricochet’ is featured both in the movie’s trailer and soundtrack.

Lively had talked about this earlier in an interview at a recent Q&A panel for Book Bonanza. “Them together made a lot of sense,” Lively had said referring to Colleen Hoover and Taylor Swift. The soundtrack also features songs by Britney Spears, Birdy’s ‘Skinny Love’, Lewis Capaldi’s ‘Love The Hell Out Of You’ and Creed’s ‘With Arms Wide Open.’
