The big screen reunion of Tom Hanks and Robin Wright has come as a huge treat for fans of ‘Forrest Gump‘. Almost three decades after they captured the iconic roles of Forrest and Jenny, the on-screen couple has reunited once again in the new film called ‘Here‘. Tom Hanks is no less thrilled than the fans of the couple.
Hanks opened up about his excitement about reuniting with Wright at the world premiere of ‘Here‘ at AFI Fest on October 25. Here’s what he said.
Tom Hanks Says He Picked Up With Robin Wright Right Where They Left Off
Tom Hanks mentioned how second nature it was for him and his ‘Forrest Gump‘ co-star Robin Wright to pick right where they left off in terms of a working relationship. “We just picked up right where we left off,” Hanks said smilingly, still radiant over the years gone by when they last appeared in films together.
For the actor, the four decades that went by since they last worked together seem to have skipped time. He asserted that the bond between the duo remains intact. “I’m going to say we love each other because we’re so easy with each other,” he said.

“It was a luxury to come in and have the same conversations we’ve been having for 30 years,” he added. Wright also agreed over this with Hanks, stating that reconnecting with Hanks and ‘Forrest Gump‘ director Robert Zemeckis was as seamless as it gets.
“Working with people you know and you’re compatible with, there’s nothing like that,” she said. After all these years, it appears the on-screen chemistry that once captured hearts in ‘Forrest Gump‘ is still as fresh as ever.
What Is ‘Here’ About?
‘Here‘, directed by Zemeckis, is a sweeping generational story of family, love, loss, and laughter—all set within the walls of a single home. Based on the 2014 graphic novel by Richard McGuire of the same name, the film spans a century, showing the shared experiences of those who have inhabited the home over time.

“We know each other so well. We could put our heads together and know exactly what we wanted to try differently,” he said while promising to deliver another wholesome story with Wright by his side.
