Neil Patrick Harris, in the new ‘Uncoupled‘ series trailer, has garnered love from viewers. The gay rom-com features a 50-year-old estate agent, a newly single gay man in the city of New York which makes the perfect plot.
The first trailer of the series revealed Neil Patrick Harris playing the role of Michael Lawson, who got dumped by his partner of 17 years on the eve of his 50th birthday. The co-creators Darren Star (‘Sex and the City’, ‘Emily in Paris’) and Jeffrey Richman (‘Modern Family’) seem to have prepared a good ride for the viewers, both in terms of comedy and romance.

‘Uncoupled’ Shows Struggles Of Neil Patrick Harris In The Role Of A 50-Year-Old Single Gay Man
Michael Lawson saw his soulmate depart and is bewildered. Dating is a task, but the difficulty level increases if you are a gay man in his early fifties. In the trailer, the audience can see Lawson cornered by Grindr and pitying threesomes. He is navigating his life, getting back in the dating scene, trying to remind himself of his worth, and ending up in some rib-tickling events.
Luckily, Michael has got some amazing pals and BFFs! Suzanne, played by Tisha Campbell, is Michael’s best friend. She has a witty personality with the perfect touch of sarcasm and edginess, she makes it her aim to not let her best friend lose faith in himself. His client, Claire, dripped with haughtiness, is also going through a divorce. Adding more to the list are Billy and Stanley, who are up for the dating and d— pics ride.
Talking about the upcoming series, Star and Richman said, “We are so excited to share our series Uncoupled, it is a passion project for both of us, one that has given us the opportunity to write a bittersweet romantic comedy from the perspective of a gay man.”
‘Uncoupled‘ is dropping on July 29 on Netflix. It will have eight half-hour episodes.
