Hell’s Kitchen‘ star Gordon Ramsay is infamous for giving his chef contestants a hard time. But it seems that his planets are giving him a hard time. The talented chef celebrity recently took to social media to share with his fans how he had a close shave during a recent accident.

Ramsay also shared some pictures of his horrific injuries, while deeming himself a “purple potato“. The chef got the injury from a bike accident in Connecticut. Here’s all he said about his accident and the injuries he sustained.

Gordon Ramsay Gives An Important Father’s Day Message

Gordon Ramsay took to Instagram to share the details of the injuries he acquired from a recent bike accident. Showing the purple injury in his Instagram post, Ramsay took the opportunity to send a plea ahead of Father’s Day, urging men to wear a helmet for their children if not for themselves.

In fact, Ramsay credited a helmet for saving his life, as he spoke to his 17.4 million Instagram followers. The chef can be seen lifting his shirt to reveal his purple-tinted torso in the video. The injury is a result of the crash during his trip to America.

I want to share a very important message with you all,” he begins speaking in the video, further detailing his passion for cycling and competing in triathlons and Iron Man events. “This week I had a really bad accident while riding my bike in Connecticut. I’m doing okay and did not break any bones or suffer any major injuries, but I am a bit bruised up looking like a purple potato,” he says.

Gordon Ramsay Is Grateful For Surviving The Fatal Accident, Thanks To His Helmet!

After having a near-death experience during the collision, Ramsay thanked “all the doctors, nurses, and staff at Lawrence + Memorial Hospital in New London who looked after me and checked me out.”

As he further described the accident, Ramsay’s hands twitched anxiously while he admitted he was “in pain” after the crash. In the video caption, he wrote, “Sound ON and plz Swipe through… with #FathersDay tomorrow, I have a very important message for all the dads out there… WEAR A HELMET!”

The post soon garnered attention as his comments section got flooded with support from well-wishers, many of whom were shocked by his injuries.
