The fanbase of the iconic sitcom ‘How I Met Your Mother (HIMYM)‘ was thrilled when their beloved Ted finally found the one he got married to in real life. Josh Radnor, popular for playing Ted Mosby’s character on ‘HIMYM‘, recently got married to Dr. Jordana Jacobs amidst a snowy night.
But it was not Barney Stinson’s pick-up lines that helped him finally kick off his love story – it was some sort of a cosmic message. Talking about his journey from romance that eventually led to marriage, Radnor revealed a rather amusing detail about how he met his now wife, Dr. Jordana Jacobs. And the detail features psychedelic mushrooms.

“That’s Your Woman”: A Voice In Josh Radnor’s Head Told Him About His Now Wife
Josh Radnor was speaking to the ‘New York Times’ when he confessed that he was heavily drugged because of the consumption of magic mushrooms when he first approached Jacobs. In fact, he might not even have known her in a romantic way if it wasn’t for the high that the mushrooms gave him.
Radnor said he was on a three-day meditation retreat in upstate New York in February 2022. Dr Jordana Jacobs was also there as a fellow participant. Before a meditation session, some of the people there — including both Josh and Jacobs — decided to consume some psychedelic mushrooms.
As they lay on the floor with eye masks, surrounded by the resonating sounds of singing bowls and chimes, Radnor claims that a voice in his head told him, “That’s her. That’s your woman.”
But it wasn’t just him experiencing this, it worked both ways. Jacobs also received a similar cosmic message while she was in her trip, as she distinctly heard, “You know that man over there, Josh? You’re drawn to him.” The two had had a brief interaction on the first day of the retreat and had probably caught each other’s eye during that time.

Radnor’s First Date With Jacobs Was “Intense and Powerful”
The couple, however, did not start dating until after returning home. It was Jacobs who first approached Radnor and told him about the message “her heart” had given her. “I had this experience in ceremony of listening to my heart, and my heart is drawn to you,” she told Radnor.
The ‘HIMYM‘ actor was a bit taken aback by the revelation. “I thought she was formidable,” he said. However, he texted her as soon as he left the retreat. Their connection became stronger over a month of messaging.
The couple describes their first date as being really “powerful“. “We had a really beautiful and intense and powerful first date where we went very deep,” Jacobs said.
The couple tied the knot two weeks ago. They also made it a point to pay a tribute to how they met through decorative mushrooms in the centerpieces of their wedding decorations, and a pre-ceremony yoga class and sound meditation.
Radnor took to social media to announce his wedding. “I got married! Two weeks ago. In a light blizzard. It was an incredible overwhelming snowy bliss-filled weekend. So grateful to so many people I love for making the trip…” he wrote in the caption. He also acknowledged how lucky he felt to have found his wife. “I can’t believe my great good fortune that I get to call this extraordinary woman my wife,” he wrote.
So it’s fair to conclude that just like his character Ted Mosby had a series of stories to tell his children on ‘HIMYM’, Josh Radnor has one hell of a story to tell his children about how he met their mother.
