As it turns out, the character from ‘Stranger Things‘, Eddie Munson was inspired by Damien Echols. The Hellfire club he belongs to was based on the Satanic Panic of the 1990s. The Duffer brothers, creators of the show, said they wanted to involve the Satanic panic, which led them to the West Memphis Three case, which led them back to Damien Echols. The idea of Eddie Munson came from Echols because he is a metalhead and is also into Dungeons and Dragons. A lesser-known fact about Echols is, he is also a softie at heart but looks otherwise from the outside.
