Rishi Sunak‘s rise to power as the first British Indian prime minister of the UK has attracted attention not just to him but also to his wife, Akshata Murty. His wife is the daughter of Indian billionaire Narayana Murthy. He is one of the country’s best known businessman who has been dubbed the Bill Gates of India.
An heiress to a fortune worth billions, Ms Murthy came under the spotlight for holding non-domiciled status. It means that she did not have to pay any tax on her earnings from outside the UK. What Is The Net Worth Of Rishi Sunak’s Wife?
Rishi Sunak faced press this year over his wife, Akshata Murty, having a 0.91% stake in Infosys, a company founded by her father, which continues to operate in Russia. The BBC reported that Infosys is now closing its office in Russia, and attempting to find replacement roles outside of the country for staff employed in Moscow.
Born in 1980, Murty is 42-years-old. She married Sunak in 2009 and they have two children together. Sunak has been called the wealthiest MP of the House of Commons, shared by his wife’s inherited wealth. Akshata’s 0.91% stake in the company leaves her richer than the King and Queen Consort, with an estimated net worth of £500 million.

What Does Akshata Murty Do?
Murty studied economics and French at private liberal Claremont McKenna College in California, US. She then, moved on to study Fashion of Design and Merchandising in LA, before working at Deloitte and Unilever. At Stanford University, she completed her MBA, it was here she met Rishi Sunak, the new prime minister of UK.
Having built the software company Infosys into a billion dollar empire, together with his wife Sudha, N.R. Narayana Murthy is now known as the ‘Bill Gates of India’. The majority of Murty’s wealth comes from her stake in Infosys, but she is also listed as a shareholder in at least six other companies. These include Jamie Oliver’s Pizzeria, Wendy’s restaurants in India, and men’s fashion store New & Lingwood.
