Life And Career Of Raquel Welch
Born on September 5, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, Raquel Welch’s father was an aeronautical engineer. Her father was of Spanish descent. With dreams of acting, Welch attended the San Diego State College on a scholarship in theater arts.
Amid doing several theatre plays, Welch got married, gave birth to two kids, and even separated from her husband. She moved to Los Angeles in 1963. After several brief appearances in films, Welch rose to prominence for her role in ‘Fantastic Voyage.’
Later on, her bikinis pictures from ‘One Million Years B.C.’ made her into a global name and a sex symbol. In 1974, she won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for her role in ‘The Three Musketeers.’

On Wednesday, February 15, 2023, Welch passed away at the age of 82. She died at her home in Los Angeles after a brief illness. She is survived by her son Damon Welch and daughter Tahnee Welch.
On the personal front, Welch was first married to her college boyfriend between 1959 to 1964. From 1967 to 1972, she was married to film producer Patrick Curtis. She also married French producer Andre Weinfeld (1980-1990) and restaurateur Richard Palmer (1999-2003).
In her final years, Welch spent alone at home in Beverly Hills. “I don’t like to have a man,” she said in 2015. “Because I’m too set in my ways. I like what I do. I actually enjoy being me, and I make a very good living at it and I’m happy.”
