Charlie Cox Says The Upcoming ‘Daredevil’ Series “Won’t Be As Gory”
Fans were left disappointed after Netflix canceled ‘Daredevil‘ post its third season. However, Disney+ has now revived the much-loved show which will mark the return of Charlie Cox.
In an interview with NME, the English actor said that fans can expect some tonal changes in ‘Daredevil: Born Again.’ He said, “this character works best when he’s geared towards a slightly more mature audience”.
“My instinct is that on Disney+ it will be dark but it probably won’t be as gory,” Cox added. The Netflix series had a TV-MA rating and was known for its gritty fight sequences. “I would say to those people, we’ve done that“, he said.
“Let’s take the things that really worked, but can we broaden? Can we appeal to a slightly younger audience without losing what we’ve learned about what works?”

‘Daredevil’ Gets A New Spin
Cox said that Marvel chief Kevin Feige sees it as “season one, rather than a season four.” In late 2018, the show was abruptly canceled by Netflix along with every other MCU series.
Since the cancelation, fans have been demanding the return of the show. In December 2021, Feige announced the show alongside the release of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home.’
Cox made a cameo as the titular character in both ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ and ‘She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.’ The first 18-episode season will premiere in the Spring of 2024.
