Jeremy Renner is an actor mostly known for his role as Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). He has also received Academy Award nominations in Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor categories for his roles in ‘The Hurt Locker’ and Ben Affleck’s ‘The Town.’
The year 2023 did not start on a good note for him as he met with a serious accident at his home. A heavy snow-plowing machine ran over him which left him heavily concussed. Now, the 52-year-old actor is taking the blame for the accident. Let us find out why he believes that.

Jeremy Renner Opens Up About The Fatal Accident
Jeremy Renner underwent surgeries and was hospitalized for weeks post the snow-plowing accident. He kept his fans in touch with his health updates on social media. The ‘Wind River‘ actor has now been recovering from the injuries.
In an interview with Diane Sawyer of ABC News, Renner said the vehicle ran over him when he tried to get back and save his 27-year-old nephew. The two were towing a Ford Raptor. “I just happened to be the dummy standing on the dang track a little bit, seeing if my nephew was there“, he said.
He further took the blame for the accident. “You shouldn’t be outside the vehicle when you’re operating it, you know what I mean?” Renner said he did exactly that and “it’s my mistake, and I paid for it.” The actor also said that he screamed “Not today, motherfucker!” when he went under the snow plow machine.

Renner Was Awake During The Accident
In the same interview, Renner said that he was awake throughout the course of the accident. “I was awake through every moment. It’s exactly what you would imagine it would feel like,” he said.
Quickly after the accident, Renner was airlifted to a nearby hospital where he received two surgeries. He had received a “blunt chest trauma” and injury to his musculoskeletal system.
He suffered eight broken ribs in 14 different places, along with injuries to his right ankle broken, left leg tibia, right knee, and lung. Thankfully, Renner is now on a road to recovery.
