Jackie Chan talked to Spielberg about joining his dinosaur universe and reaching out to more audiences. However, Spielberg didn’t have the same idea. The action star was told, “He said No! What we like you in is Jackie Chan action. That’s what we like.” The refusal was a massive let-down for the action star, only to find another opportunity to work with Spielberg.

Steven Spielberg and Jackie Reunited For ‘The Tuxedo’
Jackie Chan never got to be in the presence of the dinosaurs and went on with his career. But the meeting with his idol wasn’t for nothing. Ultimately, they worked together on an action-comedy film titled ‘The Tuxedo’ with Steven Spielberg acting as an executive producer.
‘The Tuxedo’ was actually the reason they had met years ago. The movie stars Chan as Jimmy Tong, a chauffeur who becomes an unwitting secret agent and is paired with Del Blaine (Jennifer Love Hewitt). The film made $104.4 million worldwide despite negative reviews. Chan only agreed to star because Spielberg’s name was attached to the project.
