Zac Efron is an American actor born on October 18, 1987. He began acting in the early 2000s and got his first breakthrough in a ‘High School Musical’ trilogy. In the course of his musical drama, he also starred in the musical film ‘Hairspray’ and the comedy film ’17 Again’.
He then rose to fame after playing prominent roles in films like ‘New Year’s Eve’, ‘The Lucky One’, ‘The Paperboy’, ‘Neighbours’, ‘Dirty Grandpa’, ‘Baywatch’, and ‘The Greatest Showman’. He also won a Daytime Emmy Award for the Netflix web documentary series ‘Down to Earth with Zac Efron’. Recently, he revealed why he quit being a vegan.
Why Zac Efron Is Introducing Meat Into His Diet Again
Zac Efron opened up about why he ceased following a vegan food plan. The actor revealed that he was only vegan from a ‘moral’ standpoint. The musical star was following a vegan diet for almost two years. In an interview with Men’s Health, he said he would be introducing meat into his food plan.
Efron was influenced by his ‘Down to Earth’ co-host, Darin Olien to start a plant-based food plan. He started to feel depleted after having only plant-based food for two whole years. “My body wasn’t processing the vegetables in the right way. So, I decided to stop it and try something new,” the actor revealed. He also noted that he would give his hands on intermittent fasting too whilst introducing meat again into his food plan.

What Diet Is Zac Following Now?
Efron is now undergoing a series of food-sensitive tests to find out which food is right for him. After following the tests, he found out that he needed a high-protein diet. So, he started having just two meals a day, each containing meat, and drinking apple cider vinegar before each meal.
He breaks his intermittent fasting around 11 a.m., after which he has a bone broth soup and vegetables with ‘clear protein’ such as moose or chicken. The next stop for a meal is only later in the evening. The mid meal consists of more meat and “healthy carbohydrates such as sweet potatoes or quinoa.” He also extends his view that he regrets changing his lifestyle because he ‘morally’ wishes he could be vegan. However, one has to take in what their own body requires. Efron only found out later that his body was not meant for a plant diet. Now, he can happily go back to enjoy one of his favorite foods: organ meats.
