‘Tis the season of divorces! Eminent personalities like Emily Ratajkowski, Leonardo DiCaprio, Sylvester Stallone, and others have filed for divorce from their spouses. A new member who has been added to the list is the billionaire Jeff Bezos’ ex-wife MacKenzie Scott.
The philanthropist has filed for divorce from her husband of two years, Dan Jewett. The 52-year-old billionaire filed a petition on Monday. The two were married for two years after Scott divorced Jeff Bezos after 25 years of alliance. However, why is she divorcing Dan?

Mackenzie Scott Files For Divorce The Second Time
Scott is divorcing her husband Dan Jewett merely after two years of marriage. Mackenzie was the one to file the petition for divorce at King County Superior Court in Washington, D.C. Scott is listed as one of the richest women on the globe. She has a net worth of $28.9 billion. Dan Jewett is a school teacher who has also contributed to various charities along with Mackenzie.
The couple first met at MacKenzie and Jeff Bezos’ children’s school. The two have four children together – three sons and one adopted daughter. They announced their union in 2021 in a way they know the best – charity. They pledged to give away most of their wealth to charity.
As per reports, Dan did not contest the divorce. On the Giving Page website, Dan wrote, “I am married to one of the most generous and kind people I know—and joining her in a commitment to pass on enormous financial wealth to serve others.”

The ex-CEO of Amazon, Jeff Bezos, was gushing about the relationship between his ex-wife and her husband. As per a source, Dan was a passionate and ardent worker.
The source, who was an ex-student of Dan, said, “He was involved, energetic, passionate, friendly, gregarious in a really earnest way. He so clearly loved what he was doing, loved teaching and loved science, and enjoyed working with the students…”
Jeff Bezos said via the Washington Post, “Dan is such a great guy, and I am happy and excited for both of them.” Jeff and MacKenzie announced their divorce in 2019 after 26 years of companionship.
