It is common for any celebrity’s children to become well-known faces at one point. Things have been different in a few instances where some preferred to stay away from the spotlight as they were not ready to share their personal and private life with everyone around the world. But Johnny Depp’s daughter Lily-Rose Depp followed in her father’s footsteps and established herself as one of the popular faces in films and television.
However, there are a few things that the public is still unaware of about the father-daughter duo’s relationship, which came more under the spotlight when Depp’s ex-wife Amber Heard made claims about it.

Johnny Depp Offered Weed To Lily-Rose Depp When She Was 13
Johnny Depp was in the limelight in 2020 when he sued the News Group Newspapers for calling him a wife-beater. During cross-examination, an attorney for News Group Newspapers questioned him about his cannabis use when he was married.
Depp replied by saying that cannabis helped him in battling anxiety and get some good sleep. He was then asked why he offered weed to his daughter Lily-Rose Depp when she was 13 and he answered that he never encouraged Lily-Rose to use marijuana.
Johnny Depp said that his daughter was 13 and it is the time when kids attend high school parties and are offered drinks by anyone. He added that he advised his daughter by saying: “Listen, sweetheart, if you are at a party and someone hands you the joint, take the joint from that person and pass it to the next person… don’t experiment with drugs with people you don’t know.”

Lily-Rose Depp’s First Experience With Weed
Johnny Depp stated that he told his daughter to come to him and feel free to talk when she feels ready. Depp mentioned that Lily-Rose eventually came to him and he spoke to her mother Vanessa Paradis, who also had a conversation with Lily-Rose.
Depp said he wants to be honest with his kids and they should do the same. He added: “You don’t want your 13-year-old going into some paranoid tailspin and I knew that the marijuana I had myself, that I smoke myself, is trustworthy, is a good quality and I was bound and determined not to have her try any drugs out there in the world because it’s too dangerous.”
So he put on some family TV, had the refrigerator filled with ice cream and the freezer ready with a lot of things if his daughter asked for anything.
Depp ended by saying that if what he did was wrong, he appreciates people’s point of view but he was raising a daughter and was trying to be a responsible father.
